Kim's passion for creating unforgettable celebrations has led her all over the country and fostered her career as Catering and Convention Services Manager at the Hyatt Regency Maui, Catering Coordinator and Consultant for Deja Blu Catering to owning our sister company, Kiss on the Chic Weddings & Events as a destination wedding planner, coordinating over 600 events from New England to Hawaii. That's a lot of champagne!
Francesco's career has led him all over the world including Italy, France and as the head chef for numerous top catering companies around Boston! Francesco takes pride on hand selecting the freshest ingredients and seasoning each menu item to perfection so that the natural flavors shine! What set's us apart from other Boston Caterers is our philosophy to put the care and dedication into each event only taking on 1 -3 events per week so that we can focus on the quality of our events vs the quantity of events each week.
Where we came from...
Cava Catering and Events LLC is the creative vision of co-founders Kim Livesey, Event Director and Francesco Oggiano, Executive Chef. Kim and Francesco met in 2014 during an event where Kim hired Deja Blu Catering to cater one her wedding client's events, Francesco was the head chef for the event. Francesco reported back to the owner of the catering company that the wedding planner did a great job and assisted the event in seamless execution! The owner of Deja Blu Catering just so happened to be looking for an event event planner to team up with to assist in running her company, assist with client communication, creating proposals and offering an in-house day-of planning package.
When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade... The owner of Deja Blu Catering sadly became sick during the summer of 2017 and decided she longer wanted to continue on with her company. Together Francesco and Kim knew they would be a great team and decided to create Cava Catering and Events LLC with their first event taking place November 4, 2017. Cava to us means celebration, renewal, and carrying on a legacy. We transformed our company by focusing on the freshest ingredients, quality products, exceptional service, added value and providing a service that was not only a modern twist on the classics but focusing on what we call simple flavorful bites! Bites your guests will remember and rave about for years to come!
A little bit about our philosophy...
We truly take pride in the quality of the product we provide. Cava only takes 1-3 events per weekend and 1-2 events during the mid week to ensure we can focus on each and every client's needs.
We do not get any menu ingredients delivered to our kitchen! Francesco goes out, himself, and hand selects each and every vegetable, meat, fish, produce from all different markets to ensure the best quality and freshness!
We do not purchase anything frozen! We prep all of our menu items from scratch 1-2 days prior to each and every event!
Our executive chef is the one to season all menu items, which lends itself providing our clients an extremely consisten product!
